Evaluating sport and physical activity interventions

As part of a broader sport and housing work stream, HACT is working with social housing providers to generate valuable insights about the value of delivering sport and physical activity within the housing sector to drive strategic priorities and improve the evidence base around these interventions.

As a key part of this work, HACT is undertaking quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods evaluations of sport and physical activity programmes, projects and interventions as a trusted partner within the housing sector and an independent body. External evaluations of your programmes provide a robust and unbiased analysis that can be employed as evidence to demonstrate the value of a programme and/or provide a framework for future projects.

Aim: To enable social housing providers to understand the impact of sport and physical activity interventions upon individual and communities as well as across the business.

Outputs: Working with HACT, social housing providers will be able to understand the extent to which these programmes are effective at achieving outcomes of interest and how they could be improved to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. Drawing on these insights, social housing providers will be able to communicate the value of delivering sport and physical activity interventions to the wider business, other social housing providers and other stakeholders including internal and external funding providers. This will also enable social housing providers to demonstrate the extent to which sport and physical activity interventions are business critical.

Cost: The cost of an evaluation will be dependent upon scope.
