Energy Hardship Fund

Last year, HACT distributed £1 million in energy vouchers to over 16,000 resident households across the UK, using a network of over 160 housing associations.  

This year, the need for energy vouchers is even higher.

The cumulative impact of higher energy prices and cuts to Universal Credit means that housing associations are expecting unprecedented levels of fuel poverty.   

We’ve launched the Energy Hardship Fund in response to provide much-needed immediate relief and make sure that this winter people don't have to choose between heating their homes, or feeding their families. 

So, we have one simple ask: Please contribute.

The Energy Hardship Fund is seeking support from social housing organisations, supply chain and procurement organisations, as well as charitable trusts and foundations.

With an ambitious target of reaching £1m, we will distribute through our existing networks to social housing residents in need of support with energy costs this winter. Working together as a unified sector, we can stand beside residents facing fuel poverty this winter. By adding your organisation's contribution to the fund, we will demonstrate how the social housing sector is responding to this crisis together.

Here's how you can support: 

Donate - Make a financial contribution from your organisation

Add - Send us your logo and add you name to our list of supporters 

Distribute -  Add your details to our network so you can distribute funds 

Ask - Ask your contractors, suppliers, your City financial institutions and your collaborators to add their financial contribution to the Fund.
