Mental health social value calculator version 1.0
Published: June 2018
The mental health social value alculator can help organisations to monitor the impact of their activities on mental health.
The calculator has been developed by HACT and Simetrica, using the Warwick Edinburgh Mental-Wellbeing Scale, and wellbeing valuation, thanks to funding from Golding Homes, Mitie and Wellbeing People. The calculator makes it possible to housing associations, charities, councils and contractors to measure their impact on improving mental health.
Please note: this calculator should not be used to measure mental health alongside a value from the social value bank. If you use both this calculator and the social value bank calculator to measure and value the impact of programmes, then you will be double counting.
This is because values in the social value bank already incorporate the impact on mental well being: for instance, when someone gets a job, they are likely to have lower anxiety.
Organisations should either use this calculator to measure mental health, or measure the outcomes of a programme and valuing these outcomes with the social value calculator.
To obtain a copy of the tool, please provide your name, job title, organisation and email address in the form below.
